The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) has once again captivated fans worldwide, with each match stirring excitement and anticipation. However, amidst the thrill of the games, tension brews not just among spectators, but also among team owners, including Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla.
As co-owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team, along with Juhi's husband Jay Mehta, Shah Rukh and Juhi recently shed light on the pressures they experience while watching IPL matches. During a Routes 2 Roots event in Mumbai, Juhi revealed that watching games with Shah Rukh can be an intense affair.
"During IPL matches, the excitement levels are high, and we find ourselves glued to the television screen," Juhi remarked. "However, it's not always easy to watch the games with Shah Rukh." She went on to explain that when their team isn't performing well, Shah Rukh often vents his frustration, sometimes directing it towards her. Juhi humorously suggested that Shah Rukh should channel his emotions towards the team rather than her, implying that they may not be the best viewing companions.
This tension, Juhi noted, is not exclusive to them. Many team owners are often seen feeling the pressure during matches, visibly sweating as their teams compete on the field.
Shah Rukh and Juhi, known for their close bond and past on-screen chemistry, have been associated with KKR since the IPL's inception in 2008. The team, which has clinched the IPL title twice, in 2012 and 2014, remains a significant part of their shared journey in the world of cricketainment.
