In a shocking incident at Bengaluru's popular Rameshwaram Cafe, a blast occurred on Friday, leaving ten people injured and sending ripples of panic through the city. The entire sequence of events unfolded rapidly within a span of 86 minutes, leaving law enforcement agencies scrambling to piece together the puzzle.

The timeline commenced at 11:30 am when an unidentified individual, now identified as the prime suspect, disembarked from a bus and entered the cafe premises. Surveillance footage captured the suspect ordering a plate of Rava idli at 11:38 am. At 11:44 am, a pivotal moment occurred when the suspect reached the hand wash area, discreetly placing a bag believed to contain an improvised explosive device (IED).

Seemingly conscious of surveillance, the suspect exited the cafe at 11:45 am, opting to walk down the road instead of the footpath, strategically avoiding CCTV cameras along the route. At 12:56 pm, chaos erupted as the explosion took place, causing panic among customers and staff. Astonishingly, the suspect managed to vanish around a hundred meters from the cafe's premises.

During the investigation, authorities discovered footage of the suspect engaging in a phone conversation. The police are diligently examining the calls to unveil potential leads on the suspect's contacts and motives.

The suspect's identity remains elusive, concealed behind a mask, glasses, and a cap. Limited visuals are available exclusively from within Rameshwaram Cafe. In a significant development, another individual seen with the suspect has been detained and is currently undergoing intense questioning by Bengaluru police.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has taken charge of the investigation, deploying multiple teams to identify the accused. State Police Chief Alok Mohan assured the public that despite the severity of the incident, no one sustained serious injuries. Meanwhile, forensic teams meticulously examine the scene, while NSG commandos and bomb squads scour the area for additional evidence.

In response to the attack, the police have invoked stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act. Furthermore, individuals previously implicated under anti-terror laws are under scrutiny. The suspected IED used in this incident bears a striking resemblance to the one deployed in Mangaluru in 2022, when an autorickshaw exploded.
