South Korean singer Park Bo Ram, best known for her work on the hit K-drama "Reply 1988," did not die by suicide, her agency has confirmed following an autopsy.
XANADU Entertainment issued a statement on Monday refuting recent speculation that the 30-year-old singer had taken her own life.
"An autopsy conducted this morning (April 15) revealed no evidence of homicide or suicide," the agency said, urging the public to "refrain from spreading unfounded rumors" and warning of potential legal action against those perpetuating such speculation.
Park Bo Ram, known for popular songs like "Beautiful," "Hyehwadong," and "Please Say Something," was poised for a comeback when she tragically passed away late on April 11, according to her agency.
In their initial statement, XANADU had said the cause of death was still under police investigation. However, the latest announcement provides clarity, stating that the autopsy found no indications of foul play or self-harm.
The agency also shared details about Park Bo Ram's upcoming funeral arrangements. The service is scheduled for April 17 at 3 pm (KST) at the Funeral Home at Asan Medical Center, followed by a burial procession at Seoul Memorial Park.
"We ask for your prayers for Park Bo Ram as she peacefully departs, having passionately pursued her musical dreams," the statement read.
The sudden loss of the talented young singer has deeply saddened the K-pop community and her legions of fans. With the autopsy results now available, her agency is urging the public to allow the bereaved family to grieve and make the necessary arrangements without the burden of unsubstantiated rumors.
